Installation of Rev Dr Mark Gray

Rev Dr Mark Charles Arthur Gray was installed as Minister of Cooke Centenary Church on Friday 15th September 2006.

Dr Gray had been Minister of Carnone and Convoy Churches, Donegal since 1998. In addition he has held positions of responsibility with Christian Aid, the Inter-Church Relations Board and the Board of Mission Overseas. He has been Convenor of the World Development Committee since 2004.

Dr Gray is married to Betsy and they have 3 children.

The congregation of Cooke Centenary Church look forward to getting to know the Gray family and moving into a new chapter in our history under Dr Gray's ministry.

Farewell service - Rev Marlene Taylor

A Service to mark the end of the Rev Marlene Taylor's ministry in Cooke was held on 25th June 2006.  Rev Mrs Taylor was ordained as the Assistant Minister in Cooke Centenary Church in January 1985 and assisted Rev Dr Campbell in the ministry of the Church until his retirement in June 2005.

Rev Taylor has been appointed as Chaplain to Marie Curie Hospice and a Service of Installation to this position will be held in Cooke Centenary Church on Sunday 3rd December 2006 at 7.00pm. 

The congregation of Cooke Centenary Church are delighted to learn of this appointment and wish Rev Taylor every blessing in this work.

        Retirement of Rev Dr S. J. Campbell as Minister of Cooke Centenary Church on 5th June 2005

Dr Campbell received a painting of Cooke Church as one of his retirement gifts

Prior to his retirement, Rev Dr. Jim Campbell was Minister in Cooke Centenary Church since October 1981 when he and his wife Ruth returned following 12 years of Mission Work for the Presbyterian Church in Malawi.

An evening to celebrate Dr Campbell’s ministry was held on Thursday 2nd June 2005. Family, friends, and colleagues joined the congregation to recall memorable incidents from throughout his life and tributes were paid by several specially invited guests, including Rev Matiya Nkhoma from the Church in Livingstonia, Malawi.
